This Privacy Policy explains how CheckHourAC ("Journeyman," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Journeyman platform at https://journeyman-three.vercel.app (the "Platform"). By using the Platform, you agree to this Policy.

How the AI tutor uses your data: when you ask the tutor a question, your message and the relevant conversation are sent to our third-party AI provider, Anthropic, PBC (maker of Claude), to generate a response. We do not sell your conversations, and we do not use your tutor conversations or uploaded content to train AI models. Anthropic processes this data under its commercial terms and does not use business/API data to train its models by default.

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:

5. Data retention

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Platform, then for the period required to meet legal, tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. We retain transaction records as required by law and by Stripe. You can request deletion as described in Section 6, subject to those retention requirements.

6. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to: access the personal information we hold about you; correct it; delete it; obtain a copy/port it; object to or restrict certain processing; and opt out of marketing or of any "sale"/"sharing." For users in the EEA/UK: our legal bases for processing are performance of our contract with you (providing the Platform), your consent (e.g., for marketing), our legitimate interests (securing and improving the Platform), and compliance with legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Where we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

7. Cookies and tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Platform, remember your session and preferences, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling some cookies may affect functionality. We currently use only essential cookies needed to keep you signed in and operate the Platform; we do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, so no cookie-consent banner is presented.

8. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (such as encryption in transit, access controls, and use of PCI-compliant payment processing via Stripe) to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Protect your password and notify us at matt@getgoodtwin.com of any suspected unauthorized access.

9. Children's privacy

The Platform is intended for users 18 and older and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact matt@getgoodtwin.com and we will delete it.

10. International users

We are based in the United States and may process information there and in other countries where we or our providers operate. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in countries with different data-protection laws. Where required, we use appropriate transfer safeguards (such as the Standard Contractual Clauses) for international transfers.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice (e.g., by email or in-app). Your continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated Policy.
